Ben was bought by a local family as a youngster and was originally here as a livery. Charmaine Kelly, a member of staff at Berriewood has taken him under her wing and schooled him with great success. He is now used for lessons and BHS Exams.

Brodie came from a private Riding Club home and has been ridden with a side-saddle. She is used for lessons, BHS exams and RDA.

Used for BHS Exam, lessons and RDA. He is excellent to hack out.

Bugsy has been ridden by Cathy, Lottie and Louise Cowdy as teenagers for a wide variety of events such as polo, hunting and Pony Club rallies. He is pictured here Eventing with Cathy and Louise Cowdy.

13`2hh Grey mare born approx 1983

Unfortunately we do not know much about Fanta’s history. She is very useful in the school with lessons and also does Riding and Road Safety Exams and training

Previously owned by RAF Cosford Saddle Club. He is used for BHS Exams and riding lessons.

11`2hh Liver Chestnut gelding born in 1985

Gilbert has been at Berriewood since 1991. He came from a Shropshire home. Gilbert has been used for RDA, riding lesson, mounted games and Own a Pony days.

13`1hh Bay gelding born 1995

He arrived at Berriewood in April 2007. Harry is used for lessons and RDA groups.

His previous home was with a child with Autism.

13hh Chestnut mare born 1984

Heidi has had a busy competitive life in Shropshire before coming to Berriewood

13hh Strawberry Roan gelding born 1993. He came to Berriewood in June 2006.

Henry competed with his previous owners and is now used for lessons with children.

17`1hh Bay gelding born 1984

A gentle giant! Herc came to Berriewood from a Shropshire Hunting family. He is used for lessons and BHS exams. He loves to go cross country and show jumping.

13hh Grey gelding born 1987/

Jacob came from a South Shropshire Hunting home and still enjoys the occasional day out. Jacob is now used for lessons but was once ridden by Louise Cowdy as a child. He is very good at teaching people how to ride. He also takes part in Riding and Road Safety exams and training, mounted games and competitions

16hh Grey mare born 1985

Used for RDA, BHS Exams and lessons. She also enjoys Arena Polo.

She was bred ½ a mile from Berriewood.

Used in RDA and lessons. She is a very genuine mare.

13hh Chestnut gelding born 1986

Merryweather came to Berriewood in 1995 from a Showing home. In his earlier years, Merryweather was a Prince Phillip Cup pony and has been enjoyed by all three Cowdy girls for hunting and mounted games with the South Shropshire Hunt Branch Pony Club.

12`2 Grey mare born in 1992

Misty is a very energetic pony that is keen to play polo, hunt and take part in Pony Club activities. She is used for lessons and has been at Berriewood for 10 years. She has represented the South Shropshire Hunt Branch Pony Club for mounted games on numerous occasions over the last decade.

Murphy is a livery at Berriewood and is used for lessons

Pru was previously owned by Alison Gittins who used to be an Instructor at Berriewood for many years. She is used for teenagers and exam training.

Rebel has previously lived in two Pony Club homes.

Rupert loves having lessons with children and his enthusiastic nature makes him good fun for mounted games and arena polo. He has lots of experience of fun rides and Pony Club rallies.

Snip has been at Berriewood since July 2005. He has previously come from a private home. Snip is used for children’s riding lessons and RDA groups.

13`2hh Bay mare born 1997

She has been at Berriewood since 2003. She originally came from a Pony Club home in Wales.

She is very greedy and enjoys Fun Rides.

14`2 Bay mare born 1987.

Whizzie is used for St 1 & 2 BHS Exams, riding lessons and RDA as well as Riding and Road Safety and hacking.
