2010
The Berriewood Pony Club Centre has been going since 2000. We currently have about 50 members. We hope that everyone is enjoying the activities - they certainly seem to be. We welcome any comments or suggestions you have. We would like to organise activities to suit you! If you would like your child to attend a morning and an afternoon activity they are welcome to stay here with us over the lunch break. BUT PLEASE MAKE SURE WE ARE AWARE THEY ARE STAYING.
The Pony Club is an international voluntary youth organisation for youngsters interested in riding. It was granted independent charitable status on 1st January 1997. It is the largest association of riders in the world. Many of the most successful riders in all disciplines of British Equestrian competition have been members of The Pony Club. It is the number one organisation for young people who love ponies and riding. There are more than 43,000 Pony Club members in Great Britain, belonging to either a branch or a centre. Internationally, the Pony Club has a membership of over 110,000 across 18 countries. Membership offers fun, friendship, training, events and competitions. The Pony Club objectives are: · To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding. · To give instruction in riding and horsemastership and to educate members to look after and to take proper care of their animal. · To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty to create strength of character and self-discipline. Centre membership is open to anyone under 21 years of age who does not own a pony. Members pay an annual subscription and receive instruction at a linked Riding Centre (i.e. Berriewood), this subscription constitutes membership of the club as a whole and includes 3rd party insurance. There are linked Riding Centres through the UK and the membership scheme at a centre is administered by the Proprietor. Membership of The Pony Club is £22 – this is paid to headquarters. Membership application forms are available in the office at Berriewood.
